Training

IES offers training and workshops on introductory and advanced topics related to energy markets.  The training courses and workshops can be customised to meet the specific requirements of clients. 

Some examples of the training courses we offer include:

• Introduction to the design, operation and outcomes of electricity markets
• Advanced electricity market topics including: ancillary services, dispatch and pricing optimisation algorithms, nodal pricing and power system security
• Introduction to linear programming and its application to the electricity industry
• Modelling electricity markets and price outcomes
• Contract pricing, risk management and electricity spot trading in electricity markets
• Presentations on specific industry topics such as: CPRS, RECs, Gas Market, Defining Risk Metrics, etc.

In the past we have customised some of these training courses to focus on the specifics of the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM), the Philippines Wholesale Electricity Market (WESM) and the National Electricity Market of Singapore (NEMS).

IES also offers training in its software products.
